Incredibly luxurious, creamy, and intense WCF new Peru Chocolate Chip Icecream - made with our friends at Duck Island - has arrived just in time to delight your taste buds this summer.

Duck Island recently opened its first store in Wellington and is known for its small-batch, big flavour ice creams - made using the freshest, best quality seasonal ingredients. A match made in heaven, working with the team behind Duck Island has been top of our wish list. 

Matt Williams, WCF General Manager, says as well as being a local business, Duck Island is also obsessive about quality. 

"We love partnering with creators at the top of their game, who believe in many of the things we do - in terms of making quality, ethical products, sustainability and innovation. They've nailed it in creating this incredible flavour!" says Matt Williams. 

Our incredible Peru Chocolate was voted the world's best organic bean-to-bar dark chocolate in 2018. Cameron Farmilo, Co-Founder of Duck Island Icecream, says they're excited to work with the Wellington Chocolate Factory.

It's a simple ice cream base using a few ingredients to really highlight the beautiful flavour of the chocolate - it's basically milk, cream, sugar, salt, and chocolate

"WCF is a good match for us. We both use quality ingredients in innovative ways, and on a reasonably small scale.  We tried a few variations before landing on the Peru Chocolate Chip.   In the end, we decided to go all out with the chocolate to really let it shine… so a chocolate base with chocolate chips it was".

Delicious Sundaes with a Twist

The WCF team also had the tough job of tasting 24 flavours before settling on our new Sundae Range featuring our WCF Peru Choc Chip, Toasted Marshmallow, and Strawberry Coconut & Lime (vegan) flavours.

Featuring donuts from local cafe Sixes and Sevens, and our very own vegan cookies, our new sundae range is scooping now.

2 scoops WCF Peru Choc Chip + 2 Sixes & Sevens donut bites & melted WCF chocolate

2 scoops of Toasted Marshmallow + 1/2 WCF choc chip cookie and a scoop of WCF marshmallow & melted WCF chocolate
